Duggale was a Sharana poet of the twelfth-century vachana movement. Her vachana names Basavanna, Chennabasavanna, Allamma Prabhu and Marulashankaradeva as the four teachers who shaped her. She signs her verse with Dasayyapriya Ramanatha.
