೧ಔದುಂಬರವುಹೂವಾಗಿ ಹಣ್ಣಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲಹಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೆ ಹೂವುಮಕರಂದ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.

1AudumbaraWhose fruit doesn't emerge from its flowerWhose flower is sheathed within the fruitThereby encasing its nectar

೨ನಾನು ಅತ್ತಿಹಣ್ಣುಹೂವು ತೋರದ ರಸೋದರ ಉಳ್ಳವಅತ್ತಿಹಣ್ಣು ಕೆಂಪು, ಅದು ಅದರ ಪೆಂಪು!ಗೆಲವದರಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ-ಮಕರಂದ!

2I am the Atti-hannu (cluster fig)Secreting nectar without revealing its flowerIts bright red colour, reason for its fameSacred is its secretion - its nectar!

೪ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲವು ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರಿಗೆದೋಷ ಕಂಡಿದೆ;ಗುಣವು ಗಣ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ.ನನ್ನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಳಕಂಡ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರಿಗೆನನ್ನ ಗುಣ-ನಾಲ್ವರಅಂಕಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳ ಡೊಂಬರಾಟ ಎನಿಸಿದೆ.ಅದು ಅವರ ಹಣೆಬರಹ.ಅವರು ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು.

4And some criticsFind faults in my every actNot finding virtue in my attributesThey, who find worms in my AudumbaraNot being able to decipher my proficiencyHave denounced my numerology as jugglery.No loss to me; it's their misfortuneThey need not break their heads over it.
