Interpretation
Yet another dichotomy in the Universe is the contradiction between the material & spirtitual desires of man
While some scriptures advise people to suppress all material desires & follow only the spiritual ones, the human body tells a different story
Mankutimma, it is but natural for you to get attracted to the material desires for by fulfilling these would you be sated & pleasured. Some ascetics may follow only the spiritual ones while trying to suppress all the material desires thinking it to be the right path. The reality though is that neither of these can be neglected. The body & mind both need to be catered to theyby have them complement each other…you cannot overindulge in either at the expense of the other. Find the right balance & you will not only lead a happy & fulfilling life; but also evolve into a better human.
