Interpretation
Among the many dichotomies designed by the Creator in His Universe is the one related to the five senses that He has imparted in man
The conundrum is whether to suppress the senses or not. If everyone were to suppress their desires, then how would the Universe progress; at the same time if all were to yield to all their desires, then there would be total chaos
Mankutimma, desire creates necessity & necessity is the mother of invention. If desires were to be suppressed, then man would cease to be innovative. Of all the desires, hunger & love are the ones that makes man most ambitious. Man is capable of doing things that seem beyond his capabilities in order to fulfill these desires…at the same time, man is even capable of going down the wrong path to achieve their ambitions that these desires kindle in them…yet another dichotomy – you can neither live with it nor without it…you need to make your own judgement calls on which desires would you pursue & more importantly, how would you pursue. You can do this only if you sharpen & hone your senses; else you are sure to go down the wrong path.
